Join the Community Advisory Board

Gainesville Clock Tower

Clock Tower, downtown Gainesville, Florida

Our Community Advisory Board is made up of individuals from the community who advise researchers on how to conduct studies in the community. They work in partnership with CTSI’s Community Research and Engagement Program, which helps UF researchers, health care partners, and other community organizations design and conduct community health projects. Researchers rely on board members to make sure important perspectives and needs of the people in the community are addressed.

Projects and programs that the Community Advisory Board is involved with:

  • Southeast Center on Oral Health Disparities
  • The national Promise Neighborhood Initiative (in Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Orlando, Fl.)
  • Community health risk assessments
  • Community-based health promotion, prevention, and risk reduction intervention programs
