The CTSI Mentor Academy was launched in June 2013 to promote the development of the next generation of clinical and translational scientists by promoting a culture of support for mentoring and by providing training in optimizing mentoring relationships for mentors and mentees at all levels of career development. Dr. Roger Fillingim leads the academy with support from Dr. Marian Limacher, director of the CTSI Training and Professional Development Program and senior associate dean for faculty affairs and professional development in the UF College of Medicine.

The Mentor Academy is supported by UF Health, the UF College of Medicine, and the UF CTSI. Currently, the academy offers a Master Mentor program (described below), and there are plans to develop training programs for early career mentors as well as for mentees, including junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.
