Sponsored by the UF Office of Research, the Research Opportunity Seed Fund’s 2013 competition targets interdisciplinary, faculty-initiated research projects with potential for extramural support. The program focuses on new projects (not a supplement to current research) and/or new collaborative partnerships. Proposals must emphasize novel research and must involve faculty from at least two departments/ units/ colleges. Applicants can request up to $100,000 over a period of up to two years.
Faculty interested in applying should contact their Associate Dean for Research as soon as possible for information on their college’s internal selection procedures and deadline.
Each college’s allotted number of proposals must be submitted to the Office of Research by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, with award notifications anticipated in April.
