The CTSI Training and Professional Development Program launched its new Mentor Academy with two special talks in conjunction with the CTSI Trainee and Pilot Award Research Day on June 20, 2013. Jennifer Haythornthwaite, Ph.D., of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, led both a mentoring workshop and keynote address.

Dr. Roger Fillingim will direct the new CTSI Mentor Academy, which is designed to strengthen the skills of research mentors and increase the success of both mentors and mentees at UF. The program is structured around a year-long seminar series on topics relevant to successful mentor-mentee interactions.

Current and potential research mentors are invited to participate. Any UF faculty member who attends at least eight sessions will be inducted as a member of the CTSI Mentor Academy.
