UF CTSI’s Community Research Vehicle Joins the Festivities at the Gainesville Holiday Parade

Gainesville, FL – December 7, 2024

The University of Florida Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is bringing health research into the heart of the community this holiday season as its Community Research Vehicle (CRV) rolls through the Very GNV Holiday Parade.

A symbol of UF CTSI’s commitment to advancing medical research and improving community health, the CRV is a mobile research unit that allows investigators to bring clinical trials and health screenings directly to people across Florida. As part of this year’s festive event, the CRV was decorated with holiday cheer, and accompanied by many of CTSI’s own staff.

“The Gainesville Holiday Parade is a cherished tradition, and we are excited to participate this year by highlighting how research can meet people where they are,” said E. Mendy Dunn “Our Community Research Vehicle makes it possible to reach underserved communities, expanding access to clinical trials and helping to advance discoveries that improve health outcomes.”

Community members attending the parade saw the CRV alongside other festive floats, enjoying the holiday spirit while learning more about how research plays a vital role in healthcare advancements. UF CTSI staff and volunteers, dressed in festive holiday attire, walked alongside the vehicle, greeting the crowd with warm smiles and cheerful waves.

The A Very GNV Holiday Parade took place in downtown Gainesville on UF CTSI invites everyone to celebrate the season and learn more about how research is making a difference.
