Florida Research Data Center at UF Welcomes New Partners: USF and FAU Join the Network

The Florida Research Data Center (FLRDC)  Consortium at the University of Florida is proud to welcome two new institutional partners: the University of South Florida (USF) and Florida Atlantic University (FAU). These new partnerships represent a significant expansion of the FLRDC’s mission to support high-impact research using restricted-access data that informs public policy and societal advancement.

The FLRDC was brought to Florida through a consortium effort which included FSU, UCF, Moffitt Cancer Center, and led by UF. It is part of a national network of Federal Statistical Research Data Centers (FSRDCs), a flagship program of the Census Bureau and the Interagency Council on Statistical Policy. The FLRDC is a secure lab where qualified researchers can analyze restricted-access microdata while ensuring the confidentiality of survey respondents.

These data include censuses and surveys of businesses and households, linked employer-employee data, and administrative records from other federal and state agencies. Maintained and enhanced by the U.S. Census Bureau, these confidential datasets enable researchers to generate insights that drive evidence-based policy and decision-making for the public good.

With the addition of USF and FAU, the FLRDC extends its reach and impact across Florida, leveraging the unique expertise and research strengths of each institution. These partnerships will enhance the consortium’s capacity to support cutting-edge research that addresses critical educational, economic, and societal challenges.

“Bringing USF and FAU into the FLRDC network is an exciting milestone,” said Jaclyn Hall, Director of FLRDC at UF. “Both institutions bring exceptional capabilities and investment  in data-intensive research and are aligned with our mission to advance knowledge for the betterment of society.”
