CRC Group Mentoring Program

Program Objectives:

  • Formation of Small Mentorship Groups: Organize mentees into small groups led by co-lead mentors using the Microsoft Teams platform to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Focus on Relevant Topics: Curate topics that meet the learning needs of mentees and co-lead mentors across UF Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses with a monthly workshop and small group meeting.
  • Facilitate Meaningful Relationships: Promote the development of meaningful relationships among participants in like group research.
  • Encourage Mutual Empowerment and Empathy: Foster an environment where mentors and mentees empower each other and empathize with their experiences.
  • Facilitate Personal and Professional Growth: Provide opportunities for reflective practice and engagement to support growth from mentees to mentors and mentors to leaders.

This mentorship program combines the Group Mentoring Model and Co-Mentoring Circles Model, fostering a dynamic environment where a small group of mentees collaborates with co-lead mentors. Its goal is to facilitate the progression of mentees into mentors and co-lead mentors into leaders.

For Mentees: The program offers diverse perspectives, networking opportunities, and a supportive environment to develop social skills. Mentees benefit from constructive feedback, cultivate a sense of belonging, and strengthen leadership abilities by collaborating, communicating effectively, and navigating conflicts. Learning from mentors prepares them for future professional challenges.

For Co-Lead Mentors: This role allows mentors to share their expertise with multiple mentees, gaining fulfillment from their progress and insights into industry trends through mentee interactions. Real-world scenarios and case studies enhance the learning experience, allowing participants to apply theoretical concepts practically.
