CTSI Biomedical Informatics Program Director William Hogan, a professor in the Department of Health Outcomes and Policy.

The CTSI Biomedical Informatics Program works to enhance and extend informatics infrastructure for transforming and translating discovery; create and manage advanced data capabilities; establish biomedical informatics as an academic discipline at UF; and further national collaboration to accelerate the multidirectional flow of informatics ideas, best practices, technologies, and standards. BMI educational programs will train the translational workforce required to lead and support multidisciplinary team science. BMI supports all other CTSI programs by providing foundational services for educational and research activities. The BMI Program accelerates the discovery, development and application of new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities by integrating data, enabling data management, and providing visualization and access to complex data sets. The BMI Program provides leadership and insight for major institutional initiatives, including implementation of the EpicCare electronic health record system, expansion of the UF Health Integrated Data Repository, and development of the UF Informatics Institute.
