Description

This study aims to understand the effects of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in older adults. Researchers from the Department of Defense are conducting this research study to develop treatment options for memory and dementia detection to improve traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) for vets.

Participation includes…

  • Attending (2) study visits lasting about 3.5 hours each 
  • Completing various questionnaires  
  • Cognitive testing 
  • MRI of the brain 
  • Blood draws 
  • Saliva collection  

Compensation

Participants will receive a Fitbit upon completion of the full study.

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate individuals need to meet the following criteria:

  • 65 to 90 years of age  
  • Reported head injury in the past 3 months   
  • Able to complete an MRI of the brain 
  • Able to complete a blood draw and saliva collection
