Configuration Service
REDCap software and end-user support are provided at no-cost to UF investigators. Investigators have no-cost access to REDCap, training and end-user support, but must learn details of project development and build their own projects.
While this model serves many investigators very well – especially young investigators with pilot studies – early on we identified the need to provide a more complete service for funded investigators. To that end, we offer a REDCap configuration service that can develop and deliver a fully operational REDCap project to you based on your protocol, case report forms and/or time and events schedule.
Use of our configuration service saves investigators time, reduces the learning curve, and ensures that best practices are applied during the development of their project. Costs for the configuration are very competitive for both the UF community and external clients, and inquiries are encouraged. With two weeks notice, quotes can be provided for grant submissions. For more details, contact the REDCap Support Services Team by submitting a REDCap Service Request.
RED-I
The REDCap Electronic Data Importer (RED-I) is a tool which is used to automate the process of loading clinical data from Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems into REDCap Study data capture systems. RED-I is a general purpose tool for REDCap data importing suitable for use in any study in any REDCap system. It uses XML lookups to translate data stored in comma separated values (CSV) files and uploads it to a REDCAP Server using the REDCap API. The tool allows study data to be securely uploaded from clinical reporting systems, error checked and uploaded into REDCap. It provides the investigator with feedback on upload success in the form of summary reporting of the data upload process.
If you would like to use RED-I to automate loading clinical data from EMR systems into REDCap, the software is accessible on GitHub. There you will find instructions and resources to install and use the tool. If you have further questions about how to use the software please email ctsit@ctsi.ufl.edu.
RED-I Dropper
RED-I Dropper provides digital connections between research entities for large or small dataset transfer. RED-I Dropper is customizable to restrict access to relevant study investigators. It provides a secure web interface that is most often accessible even in restrictive hospital settings. RED-I Dropper is configurable to utilize study data stored in systems such as REDCap to create links between a study participant and their relevant research data. RED-I Dropper assists in the storage of subject research data by applying a defined method to add metadata to subject files that is consistent and relevant. RED-I Dropper is configurable to use storage systems that can be right-sized for the amount of data needing to be transferred.
If you would like to use RED-I Dropper in your upload and submission processes, the software is accessible on GitHub. There you will find instructions and resources to install and use the tool. If you have further questions about how to use the software please email ctsit@ctsi.ufl.edu.
