CTSI Vouchers – Frequently Asked Questions

Is a consultation required prior to applying for a voucher?

Yes, consultations are required and provided at no cost.

How long does the voucher review and award process take?

Once a voucher request is received, review and award determinations are made within 5 business days. Holidays and UF closures can affect the time to review and make award determinations.

Am I guaranteed a voucher award?

No, vouchers are awarded on a case-by-case basis and are used to help “unstick” research.

Can I apply to receive more than one voucher?

Yes, but the maximum award amount per project is $1,000.00.

How long is an awarded voucher available?

An awarded voucher must be used within 12 months of the date of the award. Vouchers are awarded to “unstick” research. 

What is a SOW?

SOW stands for Scope of Work. This is provided by a Service Core during your consultation and lists the services to be provided as well as the number of hours it will take to complete your request.

Can I transfer my awarded voucher to another project?

No, vouchers are awarded on a per project basis.

Can I transfer my awarded voucher to another PI?

Requests to change PIs are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. All requests should be sent to April Braxton at abraxton@ufl.edu. Please note that the change in PI, if approved, must be for the same project in which the voucher was awarded.

If I have received CTSI funding for a project, can I request a voucher for the same project?

No, vouchers will not be awarded for a project that has already received funding from the CTSI. Note for Pilots.

I’ve received an invoice from CTSI for my project, what now?

Awarded vouchers are automatically applied. If you are receiving an invoice, there are charges that exceed the maximum voucher award of $1,000.00. If you believe that the awarded voucher has not been applied in full, please contact the CTSI Service Center Billing Team at CTSI-SvcCenterBilling@ad.ufl.edu.

Do I have to use the voucher at a single core?

No. You can request to move the remaining amount of your voucher to another core by completing a consultation with the new core and submitting a new voucher request. The maximum voucher award for a single project is $1,000.00.

I have exhausted my awarded voucher of $1,000.00, can I apply for another voucher for the same project?

No, the maximum award amount per project is $1,000.00.
